Egypt releases standard specifications for electronic cigarettes

According to Egyptian media Cairo24 on April 18th, the Food Chamber of the Egyptian Federation of Industries has set standard specifications for the sale of heated tobacco and e-cigarettes.
The department's chairman, Eng Ashraf El Gazairly, received a document sent by an engineer (Khaled Sofi), which revealed specific details about e-liquid. According to the general requirements of Egyptian Standard 1-8205 regarding tobacco substitutes, the standards for importing and producing electronic cigarette oil companies registered with the Egyptian General Administration of Standards and Quality are established.
According to the content of the document, electronic cigarettes are required to comply with Ministerial Order No. 101 of 2019; According to Minister's Order No. 502/2023, the Egyptian National Standard No. 2023/8685 has been established regarding the safety requirements for electronic devices used in electronic cigarettes; According to Minister's Order No. 498/2023, the Egyptian National Standard No. 2023/8724 has been established regarding the general requirements for the display, sale, and storage of tobacco substitutes.
In addition, all electronic cigarette registrations and tasks related to the sales locations of these products will be assigned to the committees mentioned above.
