According to TASS on December 13th, the Russian Ministry of Economic Development (MED) revealed to TASS that the Russian government's Subcommittee on Customs and Tariff Regulations supports increasing the import tax rate of electronic cigarettes from 0% to 5%, and the proposal will be submitted to the Eurasian Economic Commission.
According to the news, "The Russian Ministry of Finance supports a proposal to increase import tariffs on reusable electronic cigarettes from 0% to 5%, aimed at balancing import tariffs on these products and disposable electronic devices."
The Ministry of Economic Development has noted that the Audit Institute of the Russian Federation has previously made relevant recommendations, adding, "The proposal will also be sent to the Eurasian Economic Commission for further study soon."
