According to their shape and hardness, e-cigarette batteries can be divided into soft pack and hard shell, cylindrical and square. When combined, there are types such as cylindrical soft pack batteries, square soft pack batteries, and cylindrical steel shell batteries.
In the early days, cylindrical hard shell batteries were commonly used in large cigarettes, with well-known models such as 18650. Nowadays, the main application of electronic cigarettes is soft pack batteries. Whether it is square or cylindrical depends on the product design. It has many advantages such as good safety, high capacity, ultra-thin and lightweight volume, strong stability, high rate discharge, and elastic design.
According to different cathode materials, there are three common types of e-cigarette batteries: pure cobalt series, ternary series, and mixed series.
The mainstream material in the market is pure cobalt, which has advantages such as high discharge voltage platform, high rate discharge, and high energy density. The voltage platform of pure cobalt is between 3.4-3.9V, and the discharge platform of ternary is mainly 3.6-3.7V. There is also a high requirement for discharge rate, with a discharge rate of 8-10C, such as 13350 and 13400 models, to achieve a continuous discharge capacity of 3A.
